Gold discoveries in 1907 led to the establishment of National. The area's high
grade ore caused a swarm of miners, gamblers and adventurers to flock to this Nevada town. By 1911, National had several stores,
saloons, a two-story hotel, post office, doctor & dentist offices, stage lines, and various other businesses. The population eventually
swelled to over 2000. Mining finally ceased in 1915 after the ore ran out. National is well secluded. Wood is available for camping.
