The town of Helene was never much more than a tent town which explains why there are few foundations in the area. Helene did support a newspaper, the Ferguson Lode, and a post office from June 1892 to December 1894. Other than the Magnolia Mine, most of the activity was at nearby Delamar. Nothing remains today except the pictured mine and ore bin. Helene is well secluded and there is wood where we camped.
